MacBook Air stuck at spinning globe

Hi guys I have a MacBook Air a few years old , when I turn it on it had the question mark , so I followed the steps to do recovery by internet. It’s now for a spinning globe witn my wifi name underneath. Do I leave it like this ? Is it just taking ages or is it frozen ? Thanks for any help
