That MAC address is most likely yourself. This is a months-long known flaw with Norton. chronod is a normal macOS function that Norton has been flagging as a threat. They know about it, but still haven't, or won't fix it.

Your best move by far would be to remove this useless junk from your Mac.

Thank you for your response. Do you have a recommendation for virus protection? We have both PC's and Mac's.

Do not install third party anti virus apps. They are not needed. They use system resources while providing no benefit. And they may cause problems as you experienced.

Apple devices need none.

It's just short of impossible to infect iOS devices (iPads, iPhones).

There are no viruses that can affect macOS. And that's because they don't exist. There are tons or Trojans, which is any type of malware the user must install. It can't get there by itself. AV software is useless against Trojans as they can't know what it is you're going install or run until after the fact.

Even Windows is much better protected than it used to be. But it still needs protection. Still, I used to use DOS, then Windows computes for over two decades before switching to Macs. I never had any malware on them despite never using any type of AV software. Well, I did have Norton AV for one year because everyone kept insisting I needed it. It found nothing and slowed the PC to a crawl. As soon as the year's worth of free updates were over, I removed it and never paid another dime on such junk.

The basic rule applies no matter what type of computer you're using. Don't download illegal software (like cracked commercial software you think is "free"), and avoid P2P, sites that offer "free" copyright protected shows and movies, file sharing and pirate sites. If it costs something, pay for it.
