Does it meet or exceed the Recommended System Requirements?

Try it and see how it performs. If you already own the game...no harm no foul. However, if you are just now purchasing the game only for use on this laptop, then make sure you cancel the purchase within the time period allotted by Steam to get a refund.

The game will either work or it will not work. It will either perform adequately, or the game will perform poorly since a MBAir is an extremely low end system. I'm not sure even that game will perform adequately.

The description on the SteamPowered store site says

"The following Macs are capable of running the game but do not consistently meet the standards required for official support.

All MacBook Airs released since Mid 2012"

So even if you can meet the other requirements (and I'm not sure there is any way you can meet the GPU one), the developers are warning you that things won't work very well. And that you can't count on much support if you get the game anyway, and find that out first-hand.

The Intel HD 6000 in a 2015/2017 Macbook Air is approximately equal to the Iris 5100 that the developer list as the minimum graphics required.

And minimum required means running the game at very low settings and even then performance & experience will be questionable. It may be Ok if the game is already owned, but I personally would not purchase a game for a system where it is only meeting the minimum system requirements. I've done this on a Windows PC gaming system back in the day where all the other system requirements were meeting recommended, but the GPU was only barely above the minimum requirements.....it was not a fun experience. A MBAir is far from a gaming PC. I would definitely look at the comments on the Steam product page for the game and also on the Steam game forums to see how well this game may work on a MBAir. If people report issues with a MBPro, then a MBAir will be even worse.
