Apple TV app goes blank on my new Roku smart TV

Apple TV app on my new Roku smart TV won’t work. I have viewed shows on the app for the past month, but today when I select the app, I get a black/blank screen and nothing loads.

The app does work on my phone.

How can this be fixed?


I have the Apple TV app installed on my new smart TV. I have watched shows on it for about a month. Today, I get a blank screen when I open the app. How can this be fixed?

Another user (mygreensocks) suggested this procedure from Roku Support staff, which reportedly helped several users.

  1. Remove the Apple TV app,
  2. Shut off and unplug the TV (or streaming device),
  3. Wait 30 seconds,
  4. Plug the TV (or streaming device) back in,
  5. Reload the Apple TV app.


Else try the Network Connection Reset, as mentioned by user Jarieta.

If the issue persists after that, then please contact the Apple Support staff for further assistance.
