Apple TV app on Roku device

Roku device seems to be working correctly but unable to open the Apple App this week, previously had been working fine. I have already tried to Remove the Apple TV App, unplug the Roku device, turn off the TV. Waited more than a full minute. Plugged in the Roku device. Turned on the TV. Reloaded the Apple App. When I tried to open the app to finish watching a series it appears to try to load (says it's loading) then the screen goes black and it returns me to the screen for Apple TV with the box: Apple TV Open app.

All the other apps on the Roku device seem to be working.

Expensive to keep paying for Apple TV if the app won't open.

Looking for a solution.

Finally got it working. I deleted the app, turned off the TV, unplugged everything from power at the wall (TV, Roku, router). Restarted everything in reverse order after waiting at least a minute. Turned on the TV, went to the input with the Roku device, reinstalled the Apple TV app. Since I had previously gone through this entire drill EXCEPT unplugging the Roku from the wall that may have actually been the simple fix in the beginning but I'll never know now.
