After updating to iOS 17.4.1 ota, my iPhone 15 which I have bought recently started to overheat unnecessarily (even when I am not using it significantly). Also battery life dropped from about 10 hrs to 6.5 hrs.
Is this happening with anyone else?
Should I update my iPhone via iTunes to re released ios 17.4.1?
Are there any consequences of that? Please help.

Same issue here. Never overheated and 17.4.1 started to overheat with minimal usage.
Same here. iPhone 15 pro max with iOS 17.4.1 and the phone is heating with minimal usage! Come on Apple!
iPhone 15 Pro Max. After 17.4.1 there is a battery drain and overheating even when my phone is off!
15 pro here, before 17.4.1 the battery performance was excellent. Now, I can’t even use Firefox, the phone just starts overheating and too hot to hold. I have noticed charging is getting slower too. It used to be a fast charging. On top of that, sometimes I put my hand at the back of the phone, just feel where the cameras are getting hotter. It really annoys me, as I only got this phone for two months. My is build on 21E36, what are yours? Anyone knows how to reverse please?
I am having the same issue. After upgraded to ios 17.4.1 my 15 Pro Max heart up in 1 min after opening YouTube app. 3-5 mins the phone became too hot to hold.
Same issue on my almost new iPad Pro since the update

Yup I got the same issue after the update! Phone heats up even just using google chrome or safari and the battery drop really fast just doing normal (non gaming activity) compared to before the update.
I’ve had the same thing happening. My battery was already draining faster before the iOS 17.4.1 but it got worse after it. I have noticed my phone heating up for no reason and battery life is HORRIBLE! I have no idea what to do and I’m not even sure if the update is the problem
Haven't had the heating issue but then I'm not using Youtube on my iPhone 13 Pro Max. But battery never went below 50 percent in a day before and now it is.. Looks like the Apple News app is the main battery drainer.. This is annoying..
IPhone 15 Pro Max here, I have not experienced any overheating since I got the phone in October…from any update & now my phone won't stop overheating, I can't be OTP and do another task now without overheating...My battery has dropped a lot since I updated it's a 92 & it was around 97-98 beforehand my charge etc is sucky now also…
I have automatic updates on and work overnight so it rarely has time to update since it updates at night, and one day with in the past two weeks it updated…and I've been suffering…I just had to hang up a couple minutes before this and take off my case just so Itll cool off….

Same with me, just went to Apple Store and they said everything was fine. YouTube app rapidly heats up phone hot to touch turned off all kinds of settings and finally deleted YouTube app. Side not YouTube.com in safari doesn’t heat up at all.
I’ve also experienced the same issue on my iPhone 15 pro max. There many random episodes of overheating followed by issues with the pro motion display. The screen refresh rate would go choppy before
the processor region would start to overheat.
same thing happening here on my 15 PM never happened like when the update came out but now in like the last week i can’t hold the phone cuz it gets so hot randomly
15 Pro running hot when charging not sure if the screen is sleeping on down time also. The only time this phone has acted in this matter was on the release of the early iOS 17
Using iPhone 11 and it overheats and battery drains while using Safari browsing Yahoo and other sites. Even when all activities are stopped and app turned off the battery will continue to drop.
