Is there a shortcut similar to 'Windows key D' in windows or 'Super key D' in Linux.

The three finger gesture is driving me up the wall (and making me do more profane gestures to the macbook) and Command Mission Controll only really works in Finder.

I'm writing some documentation that involves a lot of screenshots that end up on the Desktop by default, but getting to them is an absolute pain. Thinking of ditching the macbook and using my Ubuntu machine to write Mac documentation as this is a real pain. There has to be a similar shortcut somewhere. Any help would be much appreciated.

If the Windows + D key combination is to display the desktop, try the function key F11 on the Mac.

You can also change (or check) that setting in System Settings > Desktop and Dock, clicking the “Shortcuts…” button at the bottom of the page. The setting is “Show Desktop.”
