Exporting iPhotos library to photos

Hi all,

I just got a new Mac air laptop and the photos library won't open. How do I export the library from iPhotos to new photos thing please?

I'm struggling!

At this point, you have to import the iPhoto Library into your Photos Library:

Import photos from another library in Photos on Mac - Apple Support

Previous versions of Photos had more options dealing with iPhoto.
