how to get rid of unwanted system modifications

Mac Mini (late 2014). OS Catalina. Web browser and email slow to a crawl, temporarily fixed by restarting, but only for a few hours. EtreCheck says I have a large number of system modifications running in the background and lists them.

Problem is, I don't know which ones I don't need, and I don't know how to remove or disable them. When I look at help sites or You Tube hep videos, they assume more knowledge of the system than I have, or my System Preferences don't display they way these sites picture them.

Can I find a reliable application that will figure out which background programs I don't need and delete them for me? If you answer, speak as if you advising a complete novice. TIA.

No. Those things cannot be relied upon, and are likely to cause trouble. Never use anything like that. Post the EtreCheck report in a reply to this Discussion and someone will be able to help.
