Multiple Layers on Screen

MacBook Pro 15" 2017. All updates completed. Multiple layers with top layer predominate. Most obvious when fully signed in. Screen has fine vertical lines on left 1/2" (rt edge of apple) and scrolling lines at bottom 3/16". Screen shot will not show lines. Can also see desktop through the sign in screen before desktop becomes the top layer on sign in. Bottom 1/4" seems to be a scrolling verbose screen with the lines of code scrolling upwards. Left vertical lines also reflect the scrolling lines bottom to top. Replace OS and problem persist. On first occasion, I opened the screen after being left on over the weekend. only had top 1/2" of screen then, over five minutes the screen progressed down to a full screen with the remaining lines on left and bottom.
