Using Non-Apple Cable on MacBook Air M2 2022

You did, and again, it shouldn't matter which brand ... although, it is worth only using "quality" brands to avoid issues. A non-Apple brand, like UGREEN, should work perfectly for this purpose. Anker is another. I also would suggest that you check out OWC as well. FWIW, I have used products from all three of these, without any issues at all.

No problem with using another cable, just make sure it is good quality from a respected manufacturer. Poor quality cables can not only have performance problems using thin wires, but a frayed cable can also cause damage to your hardware. There is a wide price range you will find when searching for a cable and in some cases there is a reason for that.

I am assuming you are using some type of audio interface to connect your guitar to, and in turn, want to use this cable between the interface and your Mac ... correct? If so, that cable does NOT have to be one from Apple. Just about any manufacturers' cable should do.
