The answer has been given several times, please go back and read through them. You cannot run anything higher than iOS 12 on your iPhone 6.

If you feel a Samsung phone would better suit you, then you should get one.

The others already helped you by pointing out that the iPhone 6 and 6 Plus are obsolete; that if you need to run modern apps, it's past time to buy a newer iPhone. A much newer iPhone.

I would suggest buying one that will be able to run iOS 18 when iOS 18 comes out. There's a list of compatible phones near the bottom of the iOS 18 Preview page.

No matter how many "me too" posts you make, or how often you say "Please", the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus cannot run iOS 13 or higher, and will never be able to run iOS 13 or higher.

Time to buy a new iPhone, preferably one that will be compatible with iOS 18.

Apple no longer ships iPhones with iOS 13, but most apps have a requirement of "iOS (whatever) or higher", not "iOS 13 specifically". Many apps now require at least iOS 15 or 16, and some (UPI payment apps in India) require iOS 17.

The add developers and programmers decide on what will be needed to run their apps. Understandably, they want their products to run on capable phones.

The iPhone 6 Plus was introduced almost 10 years ago.

You need to have an iPhone 7 to run iOS 15.

You need to have an iPhone 8 to run iOS 16.

You need to have an iPhone XS or higher to run iOS 17.

No matter whether you buy from Apple or another vendor, it really would make sense to upgrade your phone to run the most recent system, so you should be good to go for another 7-8 years. With a bit of luck, your new phone will go for another 10 years.

I'm sorry you're not impressed with your iPhone, but if this is the first iPhone you've ever owned, you managed to choose one which was released in 2014, 10 years ago. It is at this point an ancient, out of date, no longer supported iPhone, which cannot be updated beyond iOS 12. It's unreasonable to expect any cell phone, whether it be from Apple, Samsung or Google to remain current 10 years after being released.

The bottom line is no one can help you update such an old phone. If that makes you want to go back to your Samsung, that's fine. Samsung phones can't be updated forever. In fact Samsung doesn't update their phones as long as Apple does.

The iPhone 6 Plus can run the latest release of iOS 12. Currently, that's iOS 12.5.7. If you have an iPhone 6 Plus that's still on iOS 12.4.9, it might be time to get those last few bug/security fixes.

You are correct when you say the the iPhone 6 Plus cannot run iOS 13 or higher.

Looking back at the original post in this thread, I see (emphasis mine)

Apple released the iPhone 6 Plus in September 2014 and discontinued it in September 2016. If the OP bought their phone shortly before they started this thread, that means that their first iPhone was a used phone whose model was about nine and a half years old – and which had been discontinued for about seven and a half years. A phone which couldn't run anything later than iOS 12 – at a time when iOS 17 had already been out for about a half of a year.

All of this information would have been available to the OP before they bought that used iPhone.

I don't think it's fair to buy such an ancient, outdated iPhone and then condemn all iPhones ("I'm not too impressed"), when the real problem is not the platform – but the choice to buy an already extremely-outdated phone.

If I went and bought some ancient Android smartphone that couldn't run recent versions of Android, and then dumped on the Android platform in general ("this is my first Android phone and so far I'm not too impressed"), that wouldn't be fair, either.

Buyers in the market either for an iPhone or for an Android phone would be well-advised to look for a current phone – unless they understand and accept the limitations (app compatibility, and perhaps also cellular network compatibility) that are part and parcel of buying an ancient device.

It sounds like you're encountering a common issue with older iPhone models like the iPhone 6 Plus. Unfortunately, the iPhone 6 Plus is not compatible with iOS 13 or higher. The highest iOS version it can support is iOS 12.4.9.

However, there might be a workaround for your app compatibility issue. Some apps offer older versions that are compatible with older iOS versions. Here's what you can try:

  1. App Compatibility: Check if the app you want to download has an older version that supports iOS 12. To do this, go to the App Store, find the app, and try downloading it. If your device is not compatible with the latest version, the App Store might offer to download an older compatible version if one exists.
  2. Alternative Apps: If the app you want isn't available in an older version, look for alternative apps that offer similar functionality and are compatible with iOS 12. You might find alternative apps that meet your needs.
  3. Contact the Developer: Reach out to the developer of the app you're trying to download. They might be able to provide assistance or offer a solution.
  4. Consider Your Options: If the apps you need are only compatible with newer iOS versions and you're unable to find suitable alternatives, you might need to consider upgrading your device to a newer model that supports iOS 13 or higher
