It seems you already have the image because you display it in this discussion.

If you add the image to the Photos library, and see Customize your Lock Screen photo.

Eg: says:

"Tip: Alternatively, you can add a photo directly from your photo library to your Home Screen and Lock Screen. In the Photos app , tap Library, select a photo, then tap . Scroll down and select Use as Wallpaper,

tap Add,

then choose whether to show it on both your Home Screen and Lock Screen."

We are all Apple users, like yourself, in the Community. No-one here would be able to bring the original iOS 16 image back to the wallpapers on every iPhone.

If you are sure that wallpaper is no longer amongst those available on your iPhone, you might want to try a search online: Eg: search for "iOS 16 wallpaper". You can likely download the original, full resolution image, if you find it on a web-site you can trust.

You can also send feedback to Apple if you wish: Although they will likely not reply, your feedback would reach those who work behind-the-scenes at Apple, and could make changes. If others also want this wallpaper back, we may see it via an update.
