Unwanted website redirects when using Chrome

Hello- how do I stop a redirect when using Chrome and google? I click on a website and my laptop automatically opens another site with the site I want. For example, sometimes it will open two Amazon site or another random site. Thank you

Does it also affect Safari?

If it does, read Removing "Search Marquis" / "Search Baron" / etc on your own - Apple Community, and post the three screenshots it describes in a reply to this Discussion.
If Safari is unaffected and the problem is strictly limited to Google Chrome, then reset Chrome to its defaults. To learn how to do that read https://support.google.com/chrome/answer/3296214?hl=en
