tmobileapptracking on my phone

I have this T-Mobile app tracking software, running in the background on my phone, I am not with T-Mobile. Any ideas?

The app is just telling you that so you continue with their subscription. That is not unusual to see as they want to scare you into believing they are doing something useful. This is why it has been recommended to remove the Firewall/VPN. The iPhone already provides the protection you need without having to send your internet traffic to a third party for them to scrape your personal information and sell as an additional revenue stream.

There is nothing running in the background as you can see when you view the background processes on your device.

I have the VPN turned off so it’s just being used as a firewall. It’s just blocking background processes running. so going off of what your are conveying to me is that they also throwing Apple and Google along with Amazon in there to get me to subscribe? It says blocked because I’ve personally blocked them when I have it on.

Yep! These are incoming connections from trackers. Safari blocks these as well to prevent tracking and are common on a lot of websites. You are just seeing the same thing that will be blocked automatically. This is not an app or process on your device that is sending information. Trackers are found in websites and the information you are seeing is before it gets to your device and will be blocked by Safari anyway. You are not getting any additional benefit through this subscription.

To view the Privacy Report detailing the trackers in Safari:

  1. Open the Safari app  on your iPhone.
  2. Tap , then tap Privacy Report .

I did… its the one that says BLOCKED.. right above it…

I saw that and it provides little information about where you are seeing this and the context of the message that is provided with the full screen shot. Knowing now that you are using a Firewall/VPN, I think the answer can be found there. You are being mislead if you think that using this service is providing security for your device. All of your Network data and searches are being provided to this service, which many of them will sell to advertisers for an additional income stream. They also want you to subscribe or continue a subscription with them by showing you false information to scare you into giving them more money.

The one use for VPN is when you need to "tunnel" into a work environment for remote access. In this case, the employer will provide the service and configurations needed.

The subscription is no longer active, but still blocks previously blocked services. Just so you know some of these are happening while I’m asleep after clearing cash in history in safari. I truly don’t believe they’re being blocked by Safari because the app itself is still blocking them. If Safari was able to get to it faster than the app itself than my app wouldn’t show it’s been blocked, safari must be slow or unresponsive for blocking in a timely manner. Thank you for your quick responses.

A firewall is in between the internet and the device. These are incoming connection from the internet that are first going to your firewall and then travel to Safari. It has nothing to do with Safari being slow or unresponsive. If you view the Privacy Report in Safari with the provided steps, you will see the additional incoming connection that were not blocked by the firewall and if you remove the firewall, you will see those same incoming connections blocked by Safari.
