Move slider when playing video in my photo library

I took a video with my Iphone XR (IOS 17.4.1). When I play it on my Macbook Air (Sonoma 14.2.1), the video controls are displayed in the middle of the video and I cannot move them and they obscure a good portion of the video. Any suggestions for how to move the controls out of the way?

If you move the cursor out of the video window the controls will go away.

There are lots of ways a video can be run on a Mac, and you didn't say exactly what you are doing or what app you are using . Are you using Quicklook? Are you watching in Photos?

In both of those cases, you can get the scroll bar to disappear by moving your cursor out of the frame. Moving the cursor back in frame will make the bar re-appear. Does this do what you need?
