Apple Carplay Wired Issue

I have a new iPhone 15 Pro and don't want to damage my battery by constantly having it charged to over 80%.

I have a long ride to work, and use maps and podcast/music all the time.

I only have usb carplay in my car, and the battery often doesn't drain below 80% through the day and then tops right up while on my way home.

I would like to disable charging while on carplay when not needed. Is this possible?

Please do understand my concern this is very unsatisfied thing for me.

The reason I want this is because when the car is hot, and the phone is charging and using Apple CarPlay, my phone has actually shown the Overheating indicator, and it took maybe 10 mins for it to return back to normal. This is rather dangerous, especially if you are relying on maps for navigation. This has happened to me twice, and this is in Santa Barbara in July, which while it can be considered a warm place, does not have scorching temperatures like in tropical countries. James

CarPlay and battery health Hello. I have an iphone 14 promax now and i would like to use CarPlay every time I’m driving my car but i noticed with my previous iPhone that connecting iPhone to CarPlay many times a day for short periods of time clearly reduced my battery autonomy. Do CarPlay causes harm to battery and is there an option to connect to CarPlay without charging the battery. Thanks

Possibility to keep iPad battery at 50% when plugged in, instead of 100%? Hi! I‘m using my M1 iPad Pro mostly stationary at my office. Even when traveling, I hardly ever use the entire charge of its battery. For battery health, it would be better to have the battery charged to 50% all the time, when plugged in at home or the office, rather than 100%, which would only be needed before leaving for a business trip. Is there a way to make the iPad only charge to 50%, rather than 100%, when plugged in? On another note: Apple knows my calendar entries with their times and locations, as well as my current location and working habits, so they could automatically charge my iPad to 100% prior to travel/meeting abroad/trip. Why don‘t they put that knowledge to work for me and my device? If Apple reads this, please seriously consider this feature request for all Apple Silicon devices! Thank you!
