Replacing Mac Book Pro 15" 2015

What would be a good replacement for my MacBook Pro 15, 2015? Main use is web, email, keyboarding, music, video streaming. Would really appreciate your rationale for your suggestion. Thanks in advance for your thoughts.

MacBook Pro 15″, macOS 12.7

For your stated uses, -all- of the current MBPs would be fine, including the base model. The M3 Pro would give you "more" than you actually need and the M3 Max would be overkill.

You might even consider a MacBook Air instead of an MBP. The Air has caught up with many of the tech capabilities of the MBP except for number & type of ports & screen size (even there, there is overlap with the Air at 13" & 15" vs. the MBP at 14" & 16").

  • The MBP has 3x Thunderbolt4/USB-C ports, HDMI, headphone & and an SDXC card reader
  • The MBAir has 2x Thunderbolt4/USB-C ports & headphone.

There is a considerable difference in price, also.
