Nolyth USB C SuperDrive Not recognized by my MacBook Air

The MacBook Air is only about 2 yrs old, and i just updated it to the latest macOS Sonoma 14.4.1. I can’t get the drive to be recognized by the Mac! The drive has power, being plugged directly into the USB C port on the side of the Mac. Help!
