Why does my iPhone only play video volume with AirPods?

For some very odd reason that I’m not sure of my phone only loads/plays volume on videos when I have my AirPods in whenever I take them out, the videos do not load or even play volume. I cannot turn up my volume or turn it down. It won’t even show up.

iPhone refuses to connect to AirPods Every time I take my AirPods out of the case it starts to lag my phone, while at the same time my phone refuses to redirect my audio to the AirPods and making my phone lag. Sometimes if I take the right AirPod out first it tends to connect but never if done the other way around, I’ve updated my phone many times as well as reset my devices Bluetooth settings. Playback not working on AirPods Pro Hi, I’ve noticed that the playback (resuming music with a single click after pausing the same way) doesn’t work on my AirPods Pro 3. I tested it with different apps, did a factory reset of the AirPods but the issue still persists. How do I fix this? I have iPhone 14 Pro with iOS 26.1.

if you do your AirPods in the case and close the case and put the AirPods away, will the iPhone also not load any videos or show volume?

If so, please force restart the iPhone to see if the issues persist

Press and quickly release the volume up button.
Press and quickly release the volume down button.
Press and hold the side button.
When the Apple logo appears, release the side button.
