Unable to do anything in photos

I cannot do anything in my photos app, i cant even look at the photos properly.

•theyre blurred and has the loading sign whenever i try to play the live photos

•whenever i delete stuff or try to heart stuff, it doesnt heart it and nothing gets deleted.

• the photos are cropped even tho i did not take those photos with that format.

it all started when i was taking photos and when i would take them, the camera app would turn fully black then shut down.

i have tried restarting my phone many times and exiting out of photos fully. I also still have storage left, but when i take pictures or screenshots, they dont save.

Are you using iCloud Photos?

what you are describing is looking like Photos cannot download the originals of your photos to your iPhone, and if you had much more photos in iCloud Photos than your iPhone can handle even with "Optimize Storage " enabled. Even the optimized versions need local storage on your iPhone, as an estimate, at least 10% of the size of the library in iCloud.

If you also have a computer, I'd recommend to open your iCloud webpage at www.icloud.com in a web browser on your computer, then open the Photos.app on the web page and try to save photos to your computer, then delete the saved photos from your iCloud Photos library. Make the iCloud Photos library small enough to fit onto your iPhone, at least optimized. I would not let the iCloud Photos Library much larger than five times the amount of storage you can afford for the photos on your iPhone. For example, if you can easily afford to have 20GB of photos and videos locally on the iPhone, keep no more than 100 GB in your iCloud Photos Library. This way, Photos can keep some original image files locally on your iPhone, so you can work more smoothly with your photos.
