Sync My iPod Nano To My Laptop

I have playlists on my iPod Nano. I switched laptops, got rid of the old one, and restablished iTunes on the new one. I now want to get the playlists on the iPod Nano on the laptop in iTunes. As I read the instructions, syncing the iPod to the laptop will place the playlists on the laptop onto the iPod. I want to do the opposite -- I want to place the playlists on the iPod onto the laptop in iTunes. How do I do that?
