when I try to get into computer, I am told “Your account is locked. Try again in 7 hours. “When I wait 7 hours, the password doesn’t work. HELP

Did you use your Apple ID credentials to access this Mac laptop? This message is indicating that your Apple ID is locked, and the more you try entering what you think the correct password is, the retry periods will just get longer and longer, until you will be completely locked out.
