Passkeys not supported, even though I already have two!

iPhone 14 Pro Max iOS 17.4.1

I have 3 Gmail Accounts on my iPhone, 2 of which have a Passkey. Using exactly the same method as the first 2, I tried to enable a Passkey for the 3rd Account, but I keep getting this message -

A Passkey can't be created on this device.

I have deleted the Passkey on one of the enabled Accounts, and was able to re-enable the Passkey. So the problem seems to be creating that 3rd Passkey for the Google Account.

Thanks for any input.

Larry.

Change a passkey

You might need to create a new passkey to replace the existing one (if, for example, you previously shared it with someone to whom you no longer want to give access).

To change a passkey, follow the steps for an existing account in Create and save a passkey using your iPhone or Create a passkey on a device that’s not your own.

Delete a passkey

  1. Go to Settings  > Passwords, then tap the account for the passkey you want to delete.
  2. Tap Delete Passkey.

If you delete a passkey, you can create a new one at any time.
