iPad was already on when unboxed

I bought an iPad from Target and when unboxed it ,it was already on and the charging showed 87% charged. Is this normal? Because iPhone or iPad, I know all devices are switched off when it arrives, and when only you open the first time you switch it on.

Rest I checked my model number starts with M and serial number matches with the hardware. Let me know if I should return or exchange it?

Brand new unboxed iPad Air will not turn on or charge Hello, I've just received a brand new iPad Air and unboxed it and it has not turned on or been able to charge- the screen hasn't turned on once. I've tried the different ways to power it on and they have not worked. I watched unboxing videos on youtube to see if people had to charge their brand new iPads to be able to turn them on but theirs turned on immediately right out of the box. I checked to see if the charger works and I plugged it into my laptop and it started charging so I know it's not the charger it came with. Will I have to completely replace this iPad? It's a shame considering I just unwrapped it, I was pretty excited.

When you opened the carton that contained the new iPad, was it necessary to break the box seals? For all recent models of iPad, you must physically tear-off two plastic tamper-evident seals to open the carton.

If the iPad was sold "as new" with the seals intact, if you have any concerns, return it to the retailer from which it was purchased.
