On my iPhone I have a destination that routes me off course compared to my iPad. The iPad gives me the quickest route with 2 other options to choose from. My iPhone only provides 1 route kind of out of the way with no other routes to choose from. Adds 2 more hours to the route. Is there a setting or something that can be done to correct my iPhone Google maps.

Check to make sure you have selected the correct mode of locomotion. You'll see it toward the top of the page, just under the destination. Selecting transit could result in exactly what you're seeing.
