How to get blocked email senders (spam) to actually go directly to the trash?

Spam mail is out of control in iCloud. I get HUNDREDS per day... and it started last week. Wasn't so bad before that (maybe 50-100 per day). It's become almost expected... is what it is. However, the vast majority of the email I'm getting are from addresses I've BLOCKED. It all winds up in my junk folder... but when set to 'blocked', it's supposed to go right to the trash and never even appear in junk. If that actually worked, I'd get maybe 5-6 junk emails per day wind up in my junk bin. Much more manageable (and easier to scan for legitimate emails that wound up there by accident).

Someone please tell me Apple is working on a fix for this issue with the 'blocked' function. I just want them to go to the trash like they're supposed to.
