Responded to scammer pop-up how to protect iPad?

Actually, trying to help an elderly friend. I don’t know how far they’ve gone with the scammers, but I do know they’ve been on the phone with them off and on for two days! I told him to disconnect the iPad from the Internet. How can I cut these scammers off access and make it safe to reconnect to internet?

If any information was provided to them cancel any credit/debit cards and change the Apple ID password. In general, follow this guidance→If you think your Apple ID has been compromised - Apple Support. Also contact the friend’s bank fraud department.

Fortunately he never told him any passwords. We were able to delete the Anydesk app and change a couple passwords just to be safe and he is ignoring their calls. We also deleted all cookies and closed the tabs. His bank account seems safe so far. We did call bank and just confirmed there has been no unexpected activity. Thanks for the reply!
