Reading back a couple years ago, apple didn't repair microphone malfunctions. One of my microphones, of course the one I need for phone calls, took a crap on my 14 pro max. I've got an appt this weekend with Genius Bar. Just want to be prepared since it is 2 hours away. So will I spend 20 minutes or 4 hours at Apple?

I doubt that anyone in this user-to-user forum can answer that question, but if you contact Apple support using the Support link at the top or bottom of this page an Apple tech can probably answer that.

So, you're telling me that, explaining that my mic took a dump on me, is telling you that you don't know the circumstances of the device? It really isn't the main point of my post. My post is reaching out to the people who've had experience in the last year to give me a boost on expectations.
You also tell me to visit my local apple store when I said I have an appt this weekend with Genius Bar that is 2 hours away. I don't have a local store to begin with.
Seems like you're just trying to get activity by not reading posts but commenting on them lol..
When I scheduled the appt with a tech, they couldn't answer that. They diagnosed me and made my appointment.
If the right person that had the same issue with in the last year sees it, it could happen.
