Music library on thumb drive

I copied my old iTunes library to a thumb drive to use on a new MacBook Air (Sonoma 14.3.1). I had no issues syncing with my iPhone 13 until the latest update to iOS 17.4.1. After the update all of my imported music disappeared and only my purchases are available. I went to manually sync music, cabled up and with thumb drive in place, but it is not working. (It is possible that I might have the wrong directory structure on the thumb drive. But that doesn't account for the post-update failure.)

How to resolve?

Import iTunes Library into Music not working I have my old Macbook (2011) hard drive in an external enclosure. The drive works great. I recently restored my iPhone so lost all the music that was on it (which really should be included when you select All Data as the backup, but that's another support request). I don't currently use the Music app on my current computer, because the files take up too much space. I'd like to be able to re-add the music onto my iPhone, including the specific playlists I had. I figured the easiest way to do this would be to import the old music library into Music and go that way. However, it's not working. I "Choose Library" and select the old .itl file, and then redirect the Media folder to where those files are stored on my external drive. However, none of those songs or playlists (or anything) is showing up - I'm only seeing the songs I've previously bought off of the iTunes Store. What am I doing wrong? How can I get my old music and data into Music (and onto my phone)? This is very frustrating. Thanks!

(Some) previously purchased music not showing up on iPhone13 Some but not all of my music uploaded previously from CD's, appears and is available in my MacBook music library, and shows as copied to my iPhone 13, but they do not show up in my iPhone's music library in any of the modes (Artist, Songs, etc). Running Monterey 12.6.1 on my MacBook and 16.1.2 in my iPhone 13 mini. Suggested 'sync' fields/toggles/screens in related threads do not show up in Music on my iPhone, and all attempts to sync via Finder either 'entire music library' or 'selected artists...etc' on my MacBook haven't helped. I've deleted my entire library from my iPhone and re-sync'd, restarted, left the devices paired for 24 hours all multiple times...to no avail. What am I doing wrong?

Music/iTunes library broken. How to restore from iPhone? I just migrated from my old Mac Pro 2010 to a Mac studio (so no system experience beyond High Sierra). Several attempts with the Assistant eventually got everything over ... but. My iTunes/Music library was on an external drive that died a while ago. Everything is also on my iPhone but I can't figure out how to use it to repair the new Mac (studio Pro). Both are on my AppleID account. When I go the the store it lists my purchased music but there is no "Download" option. ( The transfer on Photos from phone to Mac went fine- it also had been corrupted) I'd like to delete the fragmented/broken version on the Mac and restore it with a complete version from my iPhone. Is that even possible? . Are there new security system steps I need to address, even though both are recognized as "me" Thanks for any help/suggestions
