Can't drag and drop contacts into Groups using Apple Contacts in macOS.

For a few years now when I make a new contact using Apple Contacts I can't take that new contact and place it into my desired group over on the left. The only way this works is to pick up my iPhone and find the new synced contact and select the group at the bottom of the new contact choosing "Add to List".

Apple turned off local syncing (plugging a wire in from your iPhone to your home Apple computer and syncing via the wire) several years ago in their continued press to use their iCloud servers but never addressed the issues that created.

Is there a fix for this or some way to add a new contact to your lists on the left when you make a new contact.

If Apple is going to force us to use iCloud in order to sync our information, I wish they would actually test it before they did this to make sure it worked!
