Why Did My Battery Suddenly Deteriorate After the Sonoma 14.4.1 Update?

I've had my MacBook Air M1 for about two years now, and until recently, it was performing just fine.

The battery health was showing as ''NORMAL'', and I could go through a day with just one charge.

However, things took a turn after I updated my laptop to Sonoma 14.4.1 a few days ago.

Almost immediately after the update, I started receiving a notification saying ''SERVICE RECOMMENDED''.

Upon checking, I realized that my battery has deteriorated significantly.

Now, my laptop barely lasts for three hours on a single charge.

It's shocking how this happened out of nowhere, right after the update.

It's quite the coincidence, isn't it?

Why has my battery deteriorated so randomly after the update?

My battery's health was ''Normal''.

I think it was 86% or something like that and it lasted all day with just one charge.

Now my battery is 79% and it hold around 3 hours after an update to Sonoma and there is this notification ''Service Recommended''.

I literally checked like a few weeks ago before the update and I was happy that after 2 years my battery is still so great and lasts so well.

I regret so much for not taking the screenshot of my battery's health before the update but I did not expect this to happen.
