I keep receiving lost phone notification while my phone is not lost

I keep receiving notification on my phone that the phone is lost and a code was sent to my wife's phone, then i received a text message from a number i don't recognize (i guess scammers) asking me to send them the code to reconcile my phone with the family plan. my wife, my son and my daughter keep receiving the same notification! can a scammer access my phone and reported it as lost? if yes can they access my data? what shall i do to secure the family phones?
