iOS 17.4.1 How do you skip waiting for pin login to show up if face ID login is enabled?

I like the "face id" unlock feature. It is quite cool, but sometimes I leave my device on my table face up and want to unlock it to quickly do something instead of picking up the phone so the front camera can scan my face.

What's annoying in this scenario is that I have to wait approximately 3 seconds before I can unlock my phone. Is there a way for the pin to show up imediately, but still have face ID enabled to unlock the phone?

Getting Passcode to Run First:

No. Face ID seems to overrule the passcode. Cover the camera with your hand or just look "different".

Report this to Apple:

Do your Part: Provide Apple with feedback on this, letting them know about this issue. Apple may not get back to you directly, but the more feedback they receive on this, the more they will know what is occurring, and what bug fixes to include in updates to come. Apple will know nothing of you occurrences, if you don't report it to them.
