Brother MFC9440CDW Scan using printer menu to Mac M3

Will the latest MacBook M3 laptops accept a scan from a Brother MFC-9340CDW using the scan menu on the printer. This is supported using the Control Center software on a Windows machine.

If you are asking if the printer's front panel can be used to initiate a scan and send the resulting image to the Mac, the answer is probably not.

Scanning on Macs is accomplished at least three ways:

  • Using the Preview app
  • Using the Scan button in Printers & Scanners
  • Using the built-in Image Capture app

All of those options are incorporated in macOS so you don't need to install any other software. It might be possible with that printer's front panel control but you would need to check with Brother about that and they might not know.

Probably not, at least not in-full. This device is apparently incompatible with your macOS. Se here: Brother MFC-9340CDW macOS compatibility - Brother
