CarPlay and Messages

In CarPlay, Siri no longer asks if I want to reply to a message it announces. Did IOS 17, or subsequent updates eliminate that option?

Announce messages with Siri. Why does the option to turn on “announce messages with Siri” disappear from my settings? I’ve had to reset my settings multiple times and it comes back and within a few days the option disappears again.

iOS 14.5.1 CarPlay Siri Not Texting Properly Is anyone experiencing the new iOS 14.5.1 Carplay issue in the car trying to listen to the new text message and Siri just gives you the circle of death and asks if you want to reply but didn't hear any message? Handsfree messaging using Siri on iPhone Even after the latest update, I could ask Siri to message one of my contacts. Suddenly, today, Siri tells me it's unable to do so or simply opens Messages for that contact and doesn't ask me what I want to say. I don't have bluetooth in my car so nothing on my steering wheel to activate. What happened to my Siri?
