Is there a way to remove the inbox label, but keep the other labels on emails?

I wanted to delete the inbox label from emails also having another label. I went to the “folder” for the other label, selected all then archived.

Apparently that process removed ALL labels. I’ve read specifically that archiving ONLY removes the inbox label.

But now those emails don’t show up in that labels “folder”

Help???
