This seems to be a hardware defect on the 10Gb Ethernet chips. Apple should be fixing this.

Mine disappeared a while ago, but I have a thunderbolt ethernet adaptor that I was using as a second Network adapter, put apparently it's now the only network adapter.
A few years ago 10 Gigabit Ethernet port disappeared from my Mac mini 2018 but resetting SMC and PRAM fixed that.
If that does not do it, I'd try to cleanly install Sonoma or Ventura to an external disk and see if it works then.

How do you know that. A bad cable, switch, modem or a lighting strike miles away can take out ethernet.
It's a common problem with the 10Gb interfaces on the mac minis - clearly a poor design.
I don't agree, because I'm not seeing thousands or even hundreds of cases here in the ASC forum.
Plus our 2018 has been on an ethernet network for nearly 6 years.
And just because a model came out 6 years ago, doesn't mean it was purchased at that time.
Hardware is covered for one year or more with an Apple Care Plan and that is if you purchased it from Apple or an Apple Authorized Retailer.

1) Sounds more like it was badly shorted or surged, then defective.
2) Apple is not going to repair a 6 year old Mac mini for free.
