Opening a .fcpevent file in Final Cut Pro

In FCP 10.7.1 (indeed, ever since 10.1 in 2013) your FCP documents are called "Libraries" and look like this in Finder:

A library is techically a bundle - it's a folder containing your events, media, etc., and with extension .fcpbundle

You are showing a folder, "Expectancy". What are you seeing inside that folder?

Please post a screenshot of the contents of that folder in List view.

Is it possible that this was called "Expectancy.fcpbundle" but the file extension was removed from the name.

If that is the case, and the contents of the folder have not been disturbed, re-adding the extension might fix it, but please show us the contents of the folder first.

It is not clear what exactly was downloaded. Please select the downloaded file in Finder, press Command-I and post a screenshot here.

This talk about creating a "Final Cut Events" folder relates to version 10.0 of FCP.

Ever since 10.1 in 2013 or so, this is obsolete.

Were you working in 10.0 a long time ago?

.fcpevent files can not be opened by FCPX alone, they must be part of the Library they were created in. What this person gave you is useless. Tell them to make a new Library and copy the Event into that new Library, consolidate it, then copy that new Library for you.
