Inconsistent trackpad issues during apple diagnostics on Mac book pro M3

After a crash on my one month old Macbook pro M3. I decided to run an apple diagnostics test. The test reported that there might be an issue with the trackpad and keyboard (although they work fine). It appears that this error message only happens when the external Magic Keyboard/Mouse are turned on and connected during the test (I tested it several times). It was not clear from the error message that this issue could be related to the bluetooth connected devices. Is this a known effect? I could not find info about it.

in the Apple article on the subject, this line appears:

• Disconnect all external devices except keyboard, mouse, display, Ethernet connection (if applicable), and connection to AC power.

since the test can be run with the built-in keyboard and trackpad, I read that as, "DO disconnect external trackpad if you have a built-in trackpad."
