Exporting photos to desktop to use in a Mixbook photo book

I'm creating a photo book using Mixbook (desktop), but there's no way to upload pix from Photos. I have to create a desktop folder to upload from. If I export photos for that, does it leave the original in Photos? I don't want remove them from Photos, just copy them in a high enough res for the book.

Yes, when you export either the original or edited version the original is left untouched in the library. Even when you edit a photo the original is left untouched. The edits are stored in a database and applied to the preview version or the original upon export.
