iPhone wont charge in car or work with carplay

Recently my CarPlay has been on and off. Just the other day CarPlay worked for a whole two hour drive but on the way home it went out for no particular reason, why? Now it won’t charge in the car at all unless it’s in the cigarette adapter or a wall port and it won’t charge on any other car’s usb port either. I’ve tried other peoples phone in my car and it’s worked so that’s ruled out. The only other reason I could think off is the charging port but no thanks to apple’s greed that costs hundreds of dollars to fix. Any advice?
