iPhone 15 Pro Max Storage Issue

Greetings, this problem has been annoying me for a while. So I thought I'd look for solutions here as I can't seem to find an answer for this specific case.

I have an iPhone 15 Pro Max with 256 gigs of storage. I shoot a lot of video and edit on the phone. Lately though, I keep getting storage full errors messages. Even though the phone tells me that I have 117 gigs free, I can't complete certain functions because I just don't seem to have enough storage. For example, I'll attempt to airdrop a 4 gig finished video file to my Mac mini, but it'll cancel out due to lack of space.

Is there a solution for this? I'm running iOS 17.4.1
