Strange bluetooth pairing request from another iphone

per usual, i was just scrolling through social media apps when i got this strange bluetooth pairing request from another iphone. i went to settings, and it’s already connected to my phone without me even pressing any buttons. i closed bluetooth, and it suddenly disappeared. should i be worried that someone is trying to hack or obtain my personal information and passwords?

Sounds like someone mistakenly tried to pair to your iPhone. The pairing request can be initiated from another device, but that requires the target iPhone be discoverable by having the bluetooth settings page open or have Personal Hotspot set to "Allow others to Join"

iPhone's cannot actually pair to each other over bluetooth, so even if you had tapped on Pair it would have failed.

As such there is nothing to worry about.

The other phone likely just got a failed or not supported message.
