error message downloading ProctorU Guardian Browser

I attempted to get take my PRAXIS today and unfortunately had missed the prompt to download the Guardian Browser when I did the rest of the prep. My system checks out as having everything it needs to go (except slightly low on RAM) and when I attempt to download the Guardian browser, I get an error message (picture attached). I have attempted to adjust security & privacy settings listed in other boards, but still am unable to get it to work. Their tech support phone number simply told me to call back in 24 hours as there was not a representative who was available. Any suggestions would be appreciated. I'm currently running Monterey Version 12.7.4.

See the crossed out app? It won't run on your Mac.

There are *two* guardian browsers. One for Intel and one for Apple Silicon. Did you get the correct one for your Mac?

If it's not the wrong architecture as was mentioned in the reply above, the macOS 10.12 version from the footer might be too old. If you do have the Intel version of the app, and it's still not working, check with ProctorU app support. You might need to upgrade macOS to something newer.

Unfortunately, that app looks problematic more generally, between the architectural requirements for the download (as cross-architecture apps have been fully supported for some years now), the lack of posted platform version requirements, and by not using the Mac App Store.

The Intel option did not show when my prompts came up. I was only shown Windows or Mac M1/M2.

The options and directions are inconsistent throughout the website and compared to email directions.

The Helpdesk literally typed “I’m helpless” (referring to themselves, not me”. The whole thing feels like a racket.

Thank your for mentioning the Intel options- I found it after digging around and it’s successfully installed.
