my airpod case only works when i put them on charge, but when i open them and the airpod screen pops up the battery shows 100% then after a few seconds it changes to 0% but if i reopen the tab it does the same thing. if they aren’t on charge they don’t connect. i have reset my airpods 3 times and forgot the device too and nothing is helping.

You may have a failing case. You would need to have it looked at or if someone near you had a case you can borrow put your AirPods in it. If they charge in that case then you know your case is bad and needs to be replaced. If still under warranty or you have AppleCare for them then it may be covered with a lower deductible. Otherwise you would need to pay whatever the replacement fee for your mode
