Merging my phone number with someone else’s phone number
What happens if I merge my cell number with my boyfriends?

It seems like you are perfectly comfortable with your account and the plan you have. While it is true that there are some cost savings to adding additional phones to a plan, it also means that the plan will no longer be in your name. It would also give him access to your call logs and probably voicemails. Is that worth it?

Merge? You can forward calls by going to your cell provider's website where they usually have the option to forward calls. Then your boyfriend's phone will ring when a person calls your phone.
It sounds like just a reorganisation of how the billing is handled.
2 lines on one account often ARE less costly in total that 2x lines on separate accounts.
BUT … are you REALLY ready to turn over ultimate control of your phone line to this guy ???
These things CAN go very wrong, and if you don’t even control your phone line …
What do you mean “merge” numbers?
Will you still have 2x phone numbers?
Separate phones generally need separate numbers to work normally.
This was his exact message:
My uncle works at Verizon and he knows about us and he said if we want he could merge our number together since it’s same carrier so we will be subscribed on a plan where we will talk endlessly on phone
He just asked me if I wanted to merge my number with his! I’m wondering if that means when I get a call will it ring on his too? Seems fishy!

… And IF the relationship ended badly, you’d probably be the one having to get a new phone number. 🙁
