Hovering shows hidden file names. How do I turn it off?

I assume that it's a Macintosh problem and not a software problem but whenever I hover my mouse random file names pop up. The names are of files I've worked on but Im not on top of the file when the name pops up. It's just randomly when my mouse has stopped moving. It happens when Im in other software too like Photoshop or even if Im just on my desktop not running any software (see sample images below). It started happening a year ago and I can't figure out how to make it stop.

Im on a 2017 MacBook Pro, with all the latest software updates.

MacBook Pro 15″, macOS 13.6

Given this has been ongoing for a year across reboots and such, it’s probably something installed.

Please download and run (free) EtreCheck, and share the results to the clipboard.

Then open a new reply here, and press the Additional Text button that looks like a printed page, and paste and post the hardware and software configuration report here.

From that, we can get a little more detail about what is installed and what is running here.
