My keyboard backlight won't light up -

I am using a 2020 Macbook Air M1, Recently I have noticed that my keyboard backlight won't switch on... I tried settings, reseting my PC and followed guidelines (where people had similar issues), but nothing seems to work. Could this be something that came with my recent update?, I;m not sure what is happening, cause all worked perfectly before, Please assist

Have you tried to boot the Mac in the safe mode to see if the issues persist? If they dont persist in the safe mode then they're might be caused by a piece of external software

Start up your Mac with Apple silicon in safe mode

  1. On your Mac, choose Apple menu  > Shut Down.
  2. Wait for your Mac to shut down completely. A Mac is completely shut down when the screen is black and any lights (including in the Touch Bar) are off.
  3. Press and hold the power button on your Mac until “Loading startup options” appears.
  4. Select a volume.
  5. Press and hold the Shift key, then click Continue in Safe Mode.
  6. The computer restarts automatically. When the login window appears, you should see “Safe Boot” in the menu bar.

Hi. Thank you for the suggestion above, I have just tried safe mode, the problem still persisting. Could this be a hardware issue?, because I have tried Reseting / Reinstalling my macOS, and this didn't fix the issue, I thought my problem was due to some settings I may have changed and couldn't remember where to change them. The Keyboard brightness is on ( on the highest light) in my settings, but nothing is actually lit up. The only thing that still light's up is my Caps Lock dot when I switch it on,
