Basic Checks:

Force Restart: A simple force restart can sometimes resolve temporary glitches that might be causing the screen to malfunction. The force restart method for iPhone 15 Pro might differ slightly from previous models, so here's how to do it:

  • Quickly press and release the Volume Up button.

  • Quickly press and release the Volume Down button.

    • Hold the Side button (the button on the right side) until you see the Apple logo.

Check for Physical Damage: Inspect your iPhone for any cracks, scratches, or water damage on the screen. Physical damage could be the culprit behind the black screen.

Software Troubleshooting:

Update iOS: Ensure your iPhone 15 Pro is running the latest version of iOS (iOS 17 in your case). Updates often include bug fixes that might address display issues. Go to Settings > General > Software Update to check for and install any available updates.

Reset All Settings (Last Resort): Resetting all settings can sometimes resolve software conflicts that might be causing the display problem. This will reset your Wi-Fi passwords, Bluetooth connections, and other settings to factory defaults. Back up your iPhone before proceeding: How to back up your iPhone. Go to Settings > General > Transfer or Reset iPhone. Tap "Reset" and choose "Reset All Settings."

If None of These Work:

If none of the above solutions work, there might be a hardware issue with your iPhone 15 Pro display. In that case, it's recommended to take your iPhone to an Apple Authorized Service Provider or Apple Store for further diagnosis and potential repairs.

What should a person do when this has happened multiple times? What should a person do when they bring it to the apple store and they do this and just hand it back to you and say it's fixed? What should a person do when the apple store then says "well maybe you have too much stuff" after they reboot it and then you get brick walled and they basically can only say "iunno"?

Ask to speak with someone higher level. This is a user to user only forum and we have way to diagnose or fix your phone if it is having issues.
